To make your AEG replica work at its best: the batteries and their chargers
There are 3 types of batteries:
LIPO: Lithium Polymers are sensitive and need maintenance outside of charging to perform at their best.
LIFE: they are similar to LIPO but have a better lifespan and faster charging, in addition to being more stable.
NiMH: Nickel Metal Hybrids are the easiest to maintain, ideal for beginners.
There are other parameters to take into account for the batteries, it is the voltage and the amperage.
- The voltage: the higher it is, the more the motor of the replica will turn quickly and therefore will propel the balls faster, this means that the higher the voltage, the more the battery will be made for a powerful replica.
- The amperage: it is the autonomy of the battery. To put it simply, the higher the mAh (milliampere per hour), the greater the autonomy in charge and in duration.
As with batteries, there are different types of chargers:
- Those that do not have end of charge detection, they are only intended for NiMH batteries which are the least likely to be damaged.
- Conversely, there are those with end of charge detection for other types of batteries
- And configurable or non-configurable multifunction chargers that allow you to adjust the charging intensity, balancing or even discharging.
