M14 DMR Black (Cyma)

The M14 is an assault rifle designed to replace the M1 Garand, which was deemed obsolete after the Second World War. Innovations included full automatic fire and a magazine to replace the magazine blades. Due to a number of factors, including soldiers wasting ammunition, the M14 was restricted to semi-auto. This weapon has many positive and negative points, which has led to a large number of variations. The AR-15 and the M21, for example, are based on it. It was replaced at the end of the 1960s, but is still used in small numbers by the US Navy. It is widely used in South America and Asia, notably China and Vietnam.

This M14 DMR is the M14 DMR Designated Marksman version. It has an M14 DMR stock, a variant with a more modern pistol grip, providing a more comfortable and stable grip than the original model, as well as a cheek rest. It's a firm favourite with airsofteers for its excellent original range, plus the fact that it has the same full scope as the original weapon.

History:

The M14 was developed from a long line of experimental weapons based on the M1 Garand. Although the Garand was among the most advanced rifles of the 1940s, it was not a perfect weapon. Modifications began to be made to the basic M1 rifle design in the twilight of the Second World War. Changes included the addition of a fully automatic firing capability and the replacement of the 8-round 'block' magazine with a detachable 20-round magazine. Winchester, Remington, and the Springfield Armory owned by John C. Garand offered different designs. Garand's design, the T20, was the most popular, and T20 prototypes served as the basis for a number of Springfield test rifles from 1945 until the early 1950s.
