XM26 Airsoft Shotgun Replicas

Short history of the XM26

The MASS (Modular Accessory Shotgun System) XM26 is a rifle accessory for the U.S. Army's M16 and M4 line of firearms. It can also be equipped with a pistol grip to serve as a stand-alone handgun. The MASS XM26 was designed to replace the M500 rifles.

In reality, the MASS XM26 is a militarized version of the Lightweight Shotgun System, developed by C-More Systems and manufactured by Vertu Corporation. It was originally marketed to special operations forces. It attracted the interest of soldiers deployed to Afghanistan who wanted to reduce the number of individual weapons they had to carry by using a shotgun as an accessory to their rifle instead of a discrete sidearm.

The XM26 has been in development at the U.S. Army's Soldier Battle Lab since the late 1990s. The idea was to provide soldiers with lightweight accessory weapons that could be mounted under the standard M16 rifle or M4 carbine.

Specificities of the XM26 Airsoft

The XM26 replicas benefit from an almost all-metal finish. In fact, only parts such as the pistol grip and the front sight are made of aluminum and nylon polymer fiber. What is surprising is the great lightness of the metal parts. Moreover, this rather low weight also distinguishes the real XM26. This lightness is a real strength when it comes to using the XM26 airsoft replica as an accessory. Indeed, when positioned under the barrel of an M16 or M4, the weight will not be felt too much. The magazines are made of plastic, but remain quite large and sturdy.

The operation of this airsfot replica is quite simple overall. This allows it to have excellent performance in particular. The front and rear sights offer excellent accuracy and can be folded down if the XM26 is mounted on an M16 or M4 rifle.

What are the different variants available on Phénix Airsoft?
Only one airsoft variant of the XM26 is available on Phenix Airsoft, it is the SHS/PPS XM26. It is a black variant with a length that varies from 660 mm to 810 mm, a 160 mm long internal barrel and a weight of 1700 g. It should be noted that the Hop Up of the XM26 is fixed. On the power side, the SHS/PPS XM26 deploys a power that varies from 0.5 to 1.1 joules and a velocity between 203 and 330 FPS.

As for the operation, we find here a cartridge injection system with a manual arming system. Moreover, each cartridge contains three balls each. Finally, it should be noted that the stock is adjustable on 5 positions.

The different mechanisms that are offered on Phenix Airsoft

The only variant of the SHS/PPS XM26 airsoft replica works with a spring system. With this system, an empty shell will be ejected. In addition, the reloading process is very smooth. It should be noted that this replica can also be fed with aluminum CO² shells. However, you will need a special adapter.
