The Mk48 is a 7.62 x 51mm medium machine gun designed and produced by Fabrique Nationale in conjunction with the United States Special Operations Command (USSOCOM). It is intended to replace the M60 series of machine guns as a bridge between the M249/Mk46 series of 5.56 x 45 mm light machine guns and the M240 series of 7.62 x 51 mm medium machine guns.
It was successfully used by special operations during the early days of Operation Iraqi Freedom and continues to be used by units such as the US Navy Seals, the 75th Ranger Regiment and the Army's 'Green Berets' special forces.

The Lambda Defense Mk48 MOD 0 PARA airsoft machine gun faithfully copies the real thing to an incredible degree. The solid steel construction makes it one of the toughest and most durable airsoft machine guns on the market.
All external parts are steel except for the RIS rails and hinged top cover, which are aluminium. It uses a fully upgradable M249 LMG gearbox with 8 mm bearings. Its short motor features automatic and safety firing modes, and it can take a 7.4 V LiPo battery (wired to the handguard with a small Tamiya connector - battery not included). Its Hop-Up is adjustable.
