The TR16 MBR is primarily constructed of metal. The modern, aggressive-looking barrel, the M-Lok mounting rails, the muzzle brake, the trigger mechanism, the controls, and the magazine well are all metal. However, the ergonomic magazine well, pistol grip, and mid-cap magazine with a 90-round capacity are made of plastic.
The magazine well includes a compartment for a battery with a Tamiya mini-battery connector. The replica features a contoured pistol grip that enhances handling and comfort. An enlarged reloading grip, a custom trigger pull, and double-sided grips give the replica a unique, personalized character.
This replica stands out from other G&G models thanks to its internal components, in addition to its high-quality external construction. Two electronic systems are used in the replica: the MOSFET system located in the stock guide and the G2 ETU (Electronic Trigger Unit) – both increase the replica's lifespan and improve parameters such as trigger response and rate of fire.
The TR16 MBR is equipped with a new G&G innovation, the G2 Gearbox, which features:
