The Mk 14 Enhanced Battle Rifle (EBR) is the US Army's selective-fire battle rifle and sniper rifle, chambered for the 7.62×51mm NATO cartridge. It is a variant of the M14 combat rifle, originally designed for use by US Special Operations Command units such as Navy SEALs, Delta Force and Green Beret ODA teams/units.

History:

The M14 was an assault rifle designed to replace the M1 Garand, which was deemed obsolete after the Second World War. Innovations included fully automatic firing and a magazine to replace the magazine blades. Due to a number of factors, including soldiers wasting ammunition, the M14 was limited to semi-automatic fire. This weapon has many positive and negative points, which has given rise to a large number of variants. The AR-15 and the M21, for example, are derived from it. It was replaced at the end of the 1960s, but is still used in small numbers by the US Navy. It is widely used in South America and Asia, particularly in China and Vietnam.
