The M14 EBR (Enhanced Battle Rifle)—also known as the Mk.14 EBR—is currently used by US Navy SEALs and, to a lesser extent, by other US special operations forces. It features a substantial handguard with Picatinny rails for accessory mounting, a length-adjustable SOPMOD stock to suit any user's physique, and, notably, a pistol grip. Like all M14 models in the Cyma lineup, this replica is highly regarded by airsoft players for its excellent out-of-the-box range and its ability to fire in full-auto mode, just like the real firearm. The trigger assembly includes a mechanical safety to minimize the risk of accidental discharge. The rifle comes with fully adjustable iron sights but can also accommodate a scope or a red dot sight. It utilizes a full-metal Version 7 gearbox mounted on 7mm bearings. Inside, an M110-type spring provides the rifle with solid power output.

History:

The M14 was developed from a long line of experimental weapons based on the M1 Garand. Although the Garand was one of the most advanced rifles of the 1940s, it was not a perfect weapon. Work on modifying the basic design began toward the end of World War II. Changes included adding full-automatic firing capability and replacing the 8-round "en-bloc" clip with a detachable 20-round magazine. Winchester, Remington, and Springfield Armory (where John C. Garand worked) all submitted different designs. The Garand-based T20 design was the most popular, and T20 prototypes served as the basis for a number of Springfield test rifles from 1945 through the early 1950s.
